2016 Favorites

2016: The year that seemingly refused to end. There was laughter, tears (more so than laughter), and fierce outfits. Let's focus on the fierce, shall we?

Beach day! I've lived in New York for two and a half years now and this was my first Coney Island experience. It was the perfect late-summer day spent with my bestie and comedy wife, Stella. This was the first time I went out in public in my bikini, and I felt like a million bucks (as you can see). The top is from Monif C Plus Sizes and the bottoms are Swimsuits For All .

Even though I live in New York City, I'm a Pittsburgh girl at heart. When I'm home, I love to explore areas that I never fully appreciated before moving away. This was taken in the Strip District, one of Pittsburgh's most iconic neighborhoods. From Wholey's Fish Market to Primanti Bros., the Strip is like taking a stroll through Pittsburgh's history. On this particular stroll, I rocked some fierce orange shades and a basic tee from Old Navy's main range, ASOS Curve  jeans, my trusty Danskos , and a Fossil cross body. I cannot get enough of Fossil bags. They are affordable, last forever, and never go out of style. A+++

Workin' girl, am I right? This was what I chose to wear for the first day at my fall internship at Decider , a sub-brand of the New York Post that covers streaming content. While I could go on and on about how much I loved it there, and how seriously awesome their content and writers are, let's keep to the clothes. Working from the top-down, my plain tee and trendy long cardigan are from Old Navy's  main range, while my midi skirt is from ASOS Curve . Again, I wore my favorite Dansko  clog sandals (let's agree on that name for now) that are seriously the most comfortable shoes I own. They are a little bit pricy, but they are worth every penny. Living in NYC, I walk everywhere and when it comes to shoes, function always supercedes fashion. Luckily, these are trendy and comfy. Win-win. Finally, I tied everything together with my Fossil clutch - which I actually use as a wallet/carry-all - and a J. Crew statement necklace (purchased on a major discount). My glasses are prescription by Prada.

The best day of the year is the first day that turtlenecks are acceptable. Okay, maybe not, but it's still a fun one. While out to lunch at Industry Public Hous e in Lawrenceville, PA (try the mac n cheese, you will die from pleasure), I pounced on that fall weather like it was my job.   My leather jacket and jeans are ASOS Curve , turtleneck is And Other Stories (from their main range - AMAZING store for women size 16-18, I am a solid 16 and I can wear a medium in some of their clothes), shoes are OLD Tory Burch that are no longer available, and my bag is everyone's favorite Longchamp Le Pliage tote.

One of my favorite parts of 2016 was almost-weekly coffee dates at Cafe Jax in the Upper East Side with my two artistic soul sisters and besties, Sarah and Zoe. ~BFF shoutout~ Zoe and I have photoshoots all the time and this was one of them. The bomber is from Boohoo Plus . Now sit back and gaze at that gorgeous embroidery. LOVE.
